Legislative priorities of the Kansas City Child Abuse Roundtable Coalition for the 2009 Session of the Missouri General Assembly are as follows:
I. Support adequate funding and staffing needed for achievement and maintenance of accreditation for the Missouri Children’s Division.
II. Support increases of the foster care maintenance reimbursement and adoption subsidy rates and elimination of the disparity between them.
III. Support the development of legislation to require a comprehensive, consistent, statewide system for fingerprint-based background checks for all individuals who work or volunteer in any licensed, registered or license-exempt child care program or live in a licensed or registered home child care setting.
IV. Support access to safe, reliable child care through increased eligibility for assistance for working families.
